If you ever find yourself in Greenwich, Connecticut, a historical suburb about one hour north of New York City, you’ve probably come for the shopping along Greenwich Ave., feasting on seafood, as New England is known for, or site seeing the mansions along the beach. Greenwich has no shortage of upscale restaurants, although it has quite a shortage of affordable ones.
When I used to live in New York City I enjoyed Thai food all the time. The further outside of the city you go exotic Asian foods such as Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai, become few and far between, while Chinese take outs become more frequent. So I was delighted when I discovered a Thai restaurant in Greenwich.
Little Thai Kitchen is one of three Thai restaurants operated by the same owner, whose other restaurants are in midtown Manhattan, and Stamford, CT. The Greenwich restaurant is all around fantastic. LTK is a small nook, fitting roughly 30 people in the restaurant at once. Decorated with marigold walls, Buddha statues, and a mural of the Thailand waterfront, LTK creates a secret Asian corner in a New England town.
LTK offers cheaper lunches than dinner, so I would reccomend visiting at lunch for the same sized meal for a couple of bucks less.
Whenever I try a new Thai restaurant I always try the Pad Thai first, and based on the outcome of the Pad Thai I decide on whether or not I’m coming back. LTK’s Pad Thai Chicken is $10.95 and they always serve large portions. One serving of Pad Thai serves about two, so go ahead and buddy up. LTK masters not overcooking the chicken so that it’s still juicy and tender.
Recently I enjoyed the Drunken noodles, which is a dish consisting of chicken, mixed vegetables, and noodles similar to Pad Thai noodles but wider, also for $10.95. It was a tad spicy, just how I like it. I’d also recommend the basil chicken for $8.95, or their addictive sweet chili wings for $6.95.

Too bad I didn't discover your blog last week! I just returned from a weekend trip to visit my youngest daughter, who lives in Stamford and works in Greenwich. This would've been a great place to go for lunch on Saturday. The place we went set us back $95 (tip included) for food that was pretty good and service that was just acceptable. (And two of the three of us shared an appetizer and we all shared one dessert! And no alcohol!)
